U Channels

The channel or profile U is one of the branched and open sections of steel that is used in industry and construction including the construction of solid steel shelves, lightweight steel structures, load bridges, beams, columns, trusses. It is widely used in triangular units (made of connecting narrow and long components) and so on.

This steel product is produced through a hot rolling process with a U-shaped cross section and in different sizes. The criterion for naming studs is the height of the studs in centimeters, which shows the outer distance between the two wings on the transverse axis. For example, if the height of a gutter is 6 cm, that gutter is called a score of 6. In terms of appearance, gutters are produced in two types of parallel wings and sloping wings from a height of 3 to 40 cm and a length of 0.3 to 12 meters. Also, studs are divided into light and heavy categories based on dimensions and weight. The gutters produced in most domestic factories are lightweight and weigh less than the Stahl standard. Heavy gutters have the same weight and dimensions as the Stahl standard, which are manufactured in some domestic and European factories. In this activity, gutters with a score of 8 to 18 are produced by the Hot Rolling method; rolling is one of the common methods of metal formation. In the hot rolling method, first a steel ingot of Bloom's type (Bloom) with a certain cross section and length is poured into the rolling heat furnaces and after reaching the desired temperature and passing through the initial rolling shelves (set of rollers) its section It decreases and its length increases, and finally it passes through the middle and end rolling shelves and becomes a gutter, and then it is cut to a suitable length by a hot scissors. Bloom is a mid-range rolled steel product with a cross-sectional area of more than 230 square centimeters. Its cross-sectional area is more than 15 cm wide and less than 30 cm wide. Bloom is used to make rails, beams, cans, corners, studs, shields, and more.
